Jewelry care

Curruchela's jewelry improves with age.

Ebony, boxwood, and bubinga are hard, very durable woods that polish and improve naturally with use. However, there are certain care measures that will help keep them in optimal condition.

Maintenance

General care

Jewelry should be stored in a closed, dry place. If you protect it with a cloth, make sure it doesn't shed hair.

Wood

Our woods are finished with natural beeswax and camellia oil. To maintain their natural satin shine, you can buff them with a soft, lint-free cloth. With use, you may need to add more wax to your piece. Apply the wax with a soft cloth or brush, using circular motions, and let it dry for a few minutes before buffing to achieve a glossy finish.

Silver

The hooks on our earrings are made of 925 sterling silver with or without gold plating. Silver is a precious metal, but it can oxidize and darken with moisture and sweat. In this case, you can clean them with a special silver cloth.

Steel and Brass

The washers that hold the pieces together are made of stainless steel and only need to be cleaned with a soft, non-abrasive cloth to avoid damaging the lacquer. Brass tends to tarnish with oxidation, so it should also be cleaned with a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Polishing or using polishing products can damage and stain the surrounding wood.
